Use **Press key** to send an allowlisted key to the current page. Add Step inserts **Escape**. Optional **Pick on page** focuses that element first, then presses the key.

The allowlist is Escape, Tab, Enter, Space, and the four arrow keys. There are no modifiers in this step. The runner does not send shortcuts into Chrome UI. It dispatches key events the page's own scripts can listen for. It does not close native dialogs, move focus, submit forms, or scroll.

## How to add it

**Add Step** → **Press key**. Choose the key. Leave the selector empty to press on the page, or **Pick on page** for a field. **Test key** uses the same path.
