The Chrome extension
Tab Automation stores what it needs to run the automations you create in chrome.storage.local on this computer. That can include the automation configuration, the assigned tab’s URL, title, and favicon, selectors you pick, element text or previews, Values names and captured values, discovered link URLs, picker thumbnails, skip-visited records, and Activity history.
Activity is local. The Dev Console log keeps the last 300 entries per automation. Activity keeps the last 20 sessions per automation, with at most 500 events and 200 target rows in each session. Older detail in a long session is trimmed and counted.
That data is used only to run those automations. It is not sent to this website, to our servers, or to third parties. There is no user account and no device sync. Removing the extension, or clearing its storage in Chrome, deletes this data from the computer.
The extension asks Chrome for sidePanel, tabs, alarms, storage, scripting, notifications, offscreen, downloads, and host access on all URLs. Host access is there so the picker, watches, and steps can run on the http(s) page you assign. downloads is used when a Take a Screenshot step saves a PNG to this computer. Those files are not uploaded. When you pick an element or links, the panel also asks Chrome for that page’s origin. Chrome UI pages, extension pages, and the Chrome Web Store cannot be automated. The extension does not read browsing history.
The side panel may show the assigned tab’s favicon by loading that image URL in the browser. That is the browser fetching a public icon, not Tab Refresh sending your tab data to our servers. Reloads and Go To steps load the URLs you chose in the assigned tab — that is the automation, not telemetry.
Limited use: Tab Automation uses this data only to provide this single purpose — automations on Chrome tabs you leave open. It does not sell the data, use it for advertising, or transfer it except as required by law.
This website
Local development and builds without a measurement ID load no analytics. On the production site, if a Google Analytics 4 measurement ID was set at build time, we ask before loading Google’s script.
If you accept, Google may set cookies or similar storage and receive page URLs and basic device data so we can see which pages are used. Ads signals are turned off in our configuration. If you reject, or your browser sends Global Privacy Control, we do not load that script. Your choice is stored in this browser only.
If you accept, Google processes that data. Google is based in the United States, so page URLs and basic device data may leave your country. How long Google keeps it is set in the Analytics property, not in this repository. We do not set a retention window here.
This site also stores a theme choice and the analytics choice in this browser. It does not set first-party cookies of its own. There are no accounts, forms, or payment on this site.
Who publishes this
A legal name and a contact address will be added here before launch. There is no published email or mailing address yet. Do not invent one.
Your rights
For the extension, the data is on your computer. You can read it in the side panel and delete it by removing an automation or the extension.
For this website, you can reject analytics, or send Global Privacy Control, and we will not load Google’s script. If the law where you live gives you rights to access, erase, or object to personal data we hold, you can ask once a contact address is published on this page. You may also complain to your local supervisory authority.
Children
This site and the extension are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Changes
This policy can change. The updated text will appear on this page with a new date.
